Billy Lee Brammer papers, 1946-1993.

Typescripts, newspaper clippings, tear sheets, correspondence, photographs, and personal effects, most of which bear on Brammer's novel The gay place and its unfinished sequel Fustian days. The gay place, published in 1960, depicts an urban, political Texas and is dominated throughout by Governor Arthur Fenstemaker, a character reminiscent of Lyndon Baines Johnson.
